Learn the textures, rhythms and sounds of drumming, Arabic-style! Perfect for drummers ready to expand their repertoire, or for belly dancers interested in adding depth to their dance. Bring a doumbek, darbuka, or arabic tabla, or borrow one of ours!

Veil Choreography Class with Johanna
In this choreography we will explore a modern Egyptian piece you'll surely recognize! It's a favorite of Hip Expressions that we often use in our performances. Full of delicious tempo changes, and emotions from exciting to enticing! We'll use a veil to frame our movements, and many other simple but highly effective veil techniques that look great on stage.
No veil or performance experience required.
Recommended for Level 2/3 students, who have mastered basic isolations and are ready to have some fun with a prop that adds that extra colorful element to the dance!
Registrants are encouraged to use a silk veil for the choreography, and will get a discount on our silk veils in stock (while supplies last).
Additional costume purchase may be required to perform.
