Hip Expressions Dance, founded in 2004 by Johanna ‘Xenobia’ Krynytzky and Karen Sun Ray Coletti, is dedicated to creating and sustaining a community of dancers in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida and beyond, serving those who dance for exercise and fun, as well as the performance-minded student. Our monthly Arabian Nights Show began as a way for everyone to share and showcase their love for the dance, a place for dancers to connect.
We opened our Studio in November 2008 as a hub for our community. We aim to provide first class instruction through weekly classes and workshops; supply a variety of dance accessories; and provide opportunities for performance and community-building events.
Our goal is to broaden awareness and appreciation of belly dance as an art form.
Our vision is to be a Community Center for support and promotion of dancers (and musicians) for health, well-being, happiness, self-expression and personal fulfillment.
